I just want to say that I check this site at least twice a day every day.It has been a great source of discussion and thought during lockdown and before. The work that goes into it is very much appreciated

John, there's such a lot of appreciation amongst visitors here - if there's anything we can do to help, just say. :)

How about "fan funding" / "crowdfunding"??? Why should John pay everything?

I would definitely help with 'crowdfunding' if needed.

Hi everyone, some nice things are being said here and I appreciate that and I appreciate more than anything that 49 years later there are still people interested in this music that has been made by these great musicians and without that interest there would be no VRM dot com. The Roxy people especially Mr Ferry have been kind and rewarding to me on a personal level but that is for work I have been asked/commissioned to do and not because I do this site.

I have always said about this site from early days that no one asked me to do this therefore no one owes me anything ...not even Roxy. I do this site within my own resources and in my own time at my own pace purely as a labour of love
.
The offer of crowd funding is nice and an appreciated gesture for sure but I have always preferred the level of independence that I have and like to keep it that way.

I appreciate all your suggestions etc but the site is still in good hands and will be safe for a long time as work is being done in the background as we speak to save it from the technicalities that it has due to its age.

The re-make and re-model of the site will happen in time after that and I look forward to that.

J.O'B.

All very nicely put John. I can understand your personal desire to maintain independence which is also very laudable. Should that ever change - perhaps for reasons unforeseen - you know there are people who are happy to help.
In the meantime we'll remain beholden and grateful!
Thanks.

I echo all the other comments John. Thanks for running this site. I might not contribute as much as time would allow, but nevertheless, I am extremely grateful for all the hard work that you put in to maintaining this site. Much appreciated !

Cher J.O’B,

Windswept admires your strong sense of independence.

You have developed the definitive archive for all things Ferry and you should be hugely proud of your work. It’s truly a labour of love and is rightly appreciated by the fans and I’d be shocked rigid if our hero didn’t haunt this hall from time to time.

With regards to the future, Windswept was wondering if you could bring the ‘Sartorial’ end of things alive with the re-launch ?

W2 is sure people like Antony Price would be only too pleased to help.

Salutations,

W2
