Great song. Great vibe. And a culmination of the darkness that has been building on For Your Pleasure

I'm always so impressed with your essays. Interesting and essential reading. Great that someone is actually doing this with our favourite songs. Keep on keeping on! :D

Excellent analysis. The aloneness and isolation themes would certainly carry over to Street Life.

When I began experiencing The Bogus Man on repeat listens, I came away with the ideas that this was in effect a pop song (as in the Andy Warhol view of pop culture), and the bogus man himself was much like a Dick Tracy villain (especially with the underlying noiresque motif).

Musically, it reminds me of a twisted take/hybrid of Those Were the Days by Mary Hopkin and Alabama Song (The Doors version)...although a much, much better version. Funky, futuristic, mind-expanding. One of their best moments of stretching out and intertwining musicianship.

Robertron, thanks for taking the time to comment. Just posted 'Grey Lagoons' and would be interested in your take - you've got some great insights.

Cheers, have a safe and happy new year!

Hi Kevin
Just read the grey lagoons article. Superb. I believe you've nailed it imho. It now makes complete sense to me. I always felt it was dark and subversive, never taking it on face value. Completely fits on fyp, indeed on side 2.
Similar theme, as you note, to ITIS.
Thanks!
