The Rock and Roll HOF is a very long night that ultimately gets edited down for TV into a 2 hour show. HBO generally airs it 30 days later (April). It includes the induction speeches, acceptance speeches, and 3 songs from each artist.
As for Roxy...I expect Avalon,Love Drug and maybe 1 early classic. Really wish they would blow the die hard fans like us away and do 3 classics but that will never happen. I also highly doubt that there will be any reunion shows around the event and thus BF promoters pushing the Avalon label on USA tourw dates. What a shame shame shame, he already does 4 songs from that album already on most recent dates(Main Thing.More than This, Avalon, Take a chance , and even short bursts of Tara) so promoting it as a Avalon featured tour means what, even more than 4 songs from that?? Sounds like, looks like...a money grab one more time through the States.

Was the 1975 tour actually advertised as a farewell tour?

News to me. It was the Siren tour and, as I recall, the 'sabbatical' wasn't even announced until after the UK leg.

I don't remember the Siren tour being advertised as a farewell tour. However, I do remember very well that before the tour there was speculation as to whether the tour would go ahead, would BF be part of the band, who would do vocals without him etc etc. A lot of this was in the NME and I have the cuttings somewhere. I think all of the solo stuff was some sort of compromise. There must have been a lot of tension at that time. I also remember that when BF left the stage for the end of FYP, Diamond Head and Wild Weekend they seemed to go up a gear. Interesting times.

Almost a year ago, Bryan said:
.................................................. ..........................................
"I'd like to do some more stuff with him again (Eno) ... he's looking for an interesting character and looking for fun with work," Ferry added. Ultimately, Ferry said it comes down to "finding a window of opportunity for both of us" that fits within each of Musician's busy schedules.

Ferry said he's "experimenting with a few things at the moment," but did not divulge any additional details. His last solo album, Avonmore, was released in 2014.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of Roxy Music's self-titled debut, which is titled with an expansive box set of reissues ".
...............................................................................................
Is this future collaboration with Eno to be interpreted either on his solo projects or on Roxy Music? Does anyone know more about how to interpret this statement and especially if and how Eno has commented on this invitation so far?

Why has it been so quiet about John O'Brien in the last few weeks....

Well, I think DCJ had a good comment when he called this a far shot. Bryan has said so much. He has been talking of doing a RM soundtrack/ instrumental album. Through the years I have learned not to take it seriously. You should keep in mind that BF can be very aloof in his very polite way. Answers with a very high cost seldom find it`s way to the public.
