Not a paper I read but I found this on the web (sparked by ABBAs comeback as Abbatars) about 70s and 80s groups :

No-one should be surprised by this or any of the other errors. This is, after all, The Scum.

To compare Abba to BF/RM is to place a soft drink next to a bottle of the finest Bordeaux wine. Mon Dieu, what happened to you, is the pandemic to blame or what?
.........he is the only one I still follow when it comes to popular music.
I hope BF is well and that he will be able to tour next year!
Salutations à tous!

Hellzapoppin Hipsters,

Quel Bordel !

Thank God The ever tasteful Oberon is around to bring us to our senses.

Anybody comparing Abba to BF/RM should be flayed to within an inch of their lives with a silk knitted Chavet tie !

With the exception of friend Ferry and established artists like Paul Weller and Richard Hawley, Windswept’s focus is mainly on Jazz and the classics of popular music. Occasionally new artists make it onto his roster but it’s rare. Recent examples would be the likes of Lana Del Ray and Michael Kiwanuka.

The thought of a new ‘Roxy’ album brings W2 out in a cold sweat and he finds the very idea abhorrent. That ship sailed in 2003 and we’ve had much fabulous new music from friend Ferry since. Not to mention the amazing fandangos.

The only way W2 would like to see Roxy Music revisited is with the right stage interpretation. ‘Beautiful’ - the Carole King musical and ‘Sunny Afternoon’ - the Kinks formation story were both quite brilliant. If something original like that could be done for Roxy it would be very interesting. The material is certainly there. But other than that forget it.

Salutations a tous and W2 hopes that those who draw comparisons between ABBA and Roxy get well soon !

A shocked Windswept.

ABBA the holograms...
Phil Collins the pathetic wheelchair singer...
ZZTop the amputated rockband...
The Stones ditto...

It ain't easy to accept it is over. So Mr. Ferry, learn from this.

Absolutely correct. No more touring Bryan, please. Please do not sit on the chair at the electric piano for too long during the 90 minutes show. Please do not leave large parts of the vocal pieces to the background singers.

This is no longer Mr. Ferry Stockholm 1976 "Mother of Pearl"

The time is over ! The show stage was yesterday.

Everything else is unbelievable, like the ABBATARS.

Cher Windswept 2,
There is at least one common point : RM have made "Take a chance with me" and ABBA "Take a chance on me" :D :D

Cher Uwe,

Clearly you weren’t at the RAH last year !

The show was superb.

As always, he played to a packed house and the music was off the Richter scale.

We will Ferry on and you will do as you will.

Salutations,

W2
