Hi guys,

I’ve created a Spotify playlist covering Paul Thompson’s career.

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1wA58 ... c46c3e4c39

Sadly I don’t know which tracks from Manifesto he actually played on so that album isn’t featured: other than that I think I’ve created a chronological compilation that shows TGPT off to his best.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing it! I know what I'll be listening to today at work!

I don't have Spotify or any streaming service so I can't even look a the list.

I have on CD/LP all of the Roxy stuff and the solo albums that Paul played on as well as the Angelic Upstarts album and the 2 Concrete Blonde albums.
I also have a live show he did with Gary Moore. I can't remember off the top of my head what else he did.

Paul didn't play on 'Dance Away' - I think Rick Marotta is credited somewhere. There were rumours that overdubs were added to Paul's parts on some of the tracks on Manifesto without him being informed. That would have led to tension no doubt and may partly have led to him leaving the band?

Thats a great list - as far as Manifesto is concerned I understand the Paul didn't play on Spin Me Round and there were some overdubs on Dance Away

To be safe, anything from the East Side is good

That’s an interesting list Owhawell. I’m not a Spotify user either but a while back I made a CD for my own predilection of a selection of Paul’s tracks from the 70s Roxy family albums (one from each LP).

I picked the title track from Manifesto - that’s definitely TGPT. I did guess regarding Resolving Contradictions as the sleeve doesn’t indicate who’s on which track in the percussion department. Not sure if anyone here would know?

Whoops - I can’t believe I forgot PT played on Resolving Contradictions! I had it in my head that it was the Rock Follies bands.

Manifesto is a good shout from Manifesto.

Skill and Sweat would be my pick from the AM album.
