The CD of a live FM broadcast recorded at City Hall , Newcastle, England on 28 October 1974, the last night of the UK leg of the Country Life tour, with the album due out just a couple of weeks later.
Ferry tells the audience the gig is being recorded for a future live album and , yes, some of the tracks appear later on Viva!Roxy Music.
This is certainly peak mid period Roxy Music with all the band performing so well,, “wait a moment , here comes Phil” , says Bryan during “If it takes all night”. You can hear them all giving their best.
You really have to give the album a go. - so many definitive Roxy tracks and an audience who were pushing the player’s performances to the max.
And Ferry is in his element as the maestro, delivering a stage tour de force, just a few months short of the legendary ‘solo’ gigs that he performed later that year.
