Picked up Spedding's latest CD "Pearls" this week and really enjoyed it; more consistent, IMHO, than its predecessor "Click Clack" (on which BF plays harmonica on one track...).
Nothing wrong with the man's sense of humour either, as the shrinkwrap bore a sticker proclaiming "Warning: May Contain Jazz!". In fact only two tracks, Cherry & The Train And The River, are overtly jazzy, so non-jazz fans need not be deterred...
Some Roxy & BF alumni are present: Andy Newmark drums on most tracks; I think Charlotte Glasson, Sarah Brown & Herbie Flowers also fall into this category?
However, my favourite Spedding album remains One Step Ahead Of The Blues, on which he sounds quite J.J. Cale-ish (I have a spare unplayed copy of this CD, if anyone is interested...).
Well worthy of further investigation.
