I've asked this before, but didn't get an answer. Have there ever been any fan magazines about Roxy Music? What about fan clubs?

There was a Roxy fan club from 1973 to about 1981 which was run from Wallasey in Merseyside by a guy called Peter Leay through eg management I think and a Bryan Ferry fan club which started I think in 1976 again through Peter Leay, they were very well run but as the gap between releases from Roxy/Ferry got longer and the flow of information from the band deminished it just died out, there was never any explanation as to why it stopped, I just got my subscription returned after quite a while later. They used to organise front row seats at concerts and sell merchandise and send out regular (to start with) newsletters. They even organised a Roxy night in Liverpool in 1976 attended by Andy Mackay and Paul Thompson. I was sorry to see it go as it did a good job as a point of contact between fans and the band. I've often wondered what happened to Peter Leay.

Post subject:  Thanks, wrighta for your reply. Are the newsletters availabl

Do you know if there is anyway to access the old newsletters? Are they on the internet somewhere?

I wish there still was a fan club for Roxy Music and/or Bryan Ferry.

Old Roxy fan club newsletters appear every now and then on eBay and can get quite expensive though I've not seen any for a while. There was a Bryan Ferry information service from 1993 to about 2002 which was run by Jim Lawn (the less said about him the better) who worked for Ferry, to be honest the flow of news/info is better from this website and to a lesser extent Roxyrama then the "official" one.

Why "the less said about him the better?"
Are there any other archives besides Roxyrama and this site?

It's along time consuming and expensive process and I don't have the time and funds to do everything at once as I have many other interests and commitments in life too. I hope to open some of it soon and then continue with it when it is open.

Post subject:  Please take your time. I'm not rushing you.

I didn't mean to be rude in asking you. Good websites take a lot of time and money. Just do you're best and take your time and I'm sure it will be great. At this moment, VivaRoxyMusic is a good website! There are some smart, witty, kind people here. I only wish more people would use this site and listen to Roxy Music.

In all things and at times, realize that your work is worthwhile and brings joy to many people. You are a wonderful person, J.O'B.

God bless you!

Elshiva, I didn't take your comments as being rude but after reading back my reply it did seem a bit cold so I am sorry for that. I wrote it in a hurry as not had much time on line the last few days.

Certain sections are complete but there are one or two things I want to finish before I open it up again then complete the rest over a period of time.

Thanks for all your patience.
