Sadly, RT's tour (which was presumably intended to promote the album) has been cancelled due to his wife's continued serious ill health.

He was due in London last September, but it got postponed until March; now the whole tour's off, together with some US dates (which were scheduled for late spring or early summer, I think).

Thanks for posting that about his wife Smudge, I had read about the sad news. I just sent his site an email wishing his wife well and that he has fans here.

This interview doesn't mention whether Mrs Trower's health problems were happily resolved, but RT sounds in good spirits as he talks about his forthcoming (2015) album.

At the foot of the interview are his tour dates for autumn 2014 (USA) and spring 2015 (Benelux & UK - still including Scotland! ;) ).

Anyone here planning on catching Robin Trower during the tour which starts this week?

Should be worth arriving early, as support act, blues/rock guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor, is well worth a listen too.

I'll be at Shepherds Bush Empire on Sat 11th April... :D

Well, on the evidence of Saturday night, RT is still playing (and gurning! ;) ) very well indeed! :D

Notwithstanding the fact that the bulk of the set list hasn't changed over the past 35 to 40 years, he was very well received by a surprisingly full Shepherds Bush Empire (a much better turnout than when he last played there 3 or 4 years ago).

In fairness, Saturday's capacity was reduced by the decision to put seats in the stalls, which is usually all standing, and the attendance may have been bumped up by followers of the talented (and rather photogenic) support act, Joanne Shaw Taylor. Still, hopefully fans of each act will have had their ears pleasantly opened by whichever band they didn't previously know.
