A little bit of Avalon...
It`s subtle, it`s languid like a trailing waltz, it`s lush and orchestrated, but it`s instrumental, save for one song. There are strings, horns, chorus and tam-tams. It`s a soundtrack to the 1966 film Arabesque, starring Gregory Peck and Sophia Loren, a spy movie, composed and conducted by Henry Mancini.
The music spans from the mundane "Ascot" to the experimental "Dream Street", but most of it has that alluring cross between western and oriental music thanks to that mandola string instrument.
It`s layered, but spacious, with a widescreen stereo soundscape.
For the record, it`s labeled as easy listening.
