Cher UKRichard, Vous avez reason. Our hero innovates whilst the others imitate but the shoes are huge! Monsieur Good is not only a great musician, he's no mean director and arranger and his partnership with Geordie's favourite son has been hugely productive. It will be very interesting to see if he is involved with the Dublin "Ferry With Strings" fandango and, or, if TBFO continues as a side project. I do hope so, I think it's more than viable in its own right. I loved "The Jazz Age" and a deuxieme souffle would warm the cockles of Windswept's heart! Bien des choses a tous.

Hipsters, The set list from Vancouver looks very interesting but Windswept confesses to being a little confused. First off there appears to be know 'Can't Let Go' on the 'Can't Let Go' tour and secondly the renowned Roxologist, Savina, has posted a Vancouver snippet featuring the unlisted 'Jealous Guy'. What goes on? Any reviews from Vancouver? Regards, Windswept

Mes Amis, The reviews from Vancouver look great. On reflection, after AEWBF it's impossible to go bigger and the economics associated with taking a 15 piece across the Atlantic probably dictated a rethink. Artistically, to strip it back is probably the right move and reworking some great songs will give it some bite. I love the fact that '2HB' and 'Running Wild' are being performed and it's going to be extremely interesting to see what all this morphs into for Dublin 'With Strings'. Felicitations a tous! Regards, Windswept.

I have Just read one of the reviews from last night which states:
"More Than This" was delivered as a bar room piano ballad full of pure tenderness"
This sounds rather lovely and I'm dying to hear the rework of it. if anyone was there last night who caught footage of this then please do share. Ta very much x

I'm beginning to believe that the "Can't Let Go" dimension of the new tour actually refers to the fact that BF, no matter how hard he tries, "Can't Let Go" of Roxy Music. For all that he has done to create a distinctive solo persona, Roxy Music is always there, always present in whatever he does musically. And this new tour reflects that reality.
I make no prediction as to whether or not this tour will lead to anything involving the band Roxy Music from every performing/recording again. But BF Can't Let Go of Roxy and this will be reinforced big time at the big American venue that is Coachella.
Who knows what tomorrow might bring...

I love the set list. Stronger through the years. Magnificent on many levels.
Dear Bryan : please don't drop STTY by the time I get to see you next time. I never got over missing ATAP on the last tour.
This set list compensates easily for sneakergate.
Re the Can't let go moniker: I'm a literalist on this. I think our Bry is citing the same emotion which inspired the song first time around....ie he's still up for it and won't/can't let go of this passion/yearning. Fortunately for us, this yearning morphs into touring which is financially sustainable for BF and enjoyable for us.

Never mind the "Can't Let Go" tour, it should have been called the "Let Go of Bob Dylan" tour!

Most Elegant Of Hipsters, DJC was certainly correct this time out - according to Windswept's calculations, well over 70% of this set list comprises Roxy songs. Furthermore, he should win a huge prize for predicting 'Re-make/Re-Model' as the opening number! Perhaps a charvet knitted silk tie in black? That said I do think our hero picks songs that get the best out of his line up so I wouldn't necessarily see this as a precursor for another Roxy Music fandango but, who knows? The Ferry go round works in mysterious ways! Meanwhile, like Helen I am in suspenders waiting to hear this new treatment of 'More Than This' Regards, Windswept

I was appalled when "Can't Let Go" was played on the Avalon tour even more so when Lets Stick Together was added to the Roxy Music setlist from about 2010 onwards. Call me a purist but I'd really rather have the two bodies of work split out .... Roxy songs for Roxy Music gigs, Ferry songs for Ferry concerts... but, but, but..... Sunset on the ATGB tour, Just Like You on the Frantic tour, Take a Chance with Me last year...... so many others...
Ok, ok.. here's the rule.. Ferry/Roxy songs on Ferry gigs. Roxy Music songs only on Roxy Music gigs.
Got it?
