I didn't like ATGB at all. None of the songs moved me. But I have liked all his re-recordings/new versions of his own songs. 2HB,Remake,Sea Breezes,The Only Face, Running Wild, A Fool for Love were all great reworkings So I wouldn't mind unplugged versions of the back catalogue. But bear in mind, ATGB and Dylanesque both sold more than Olympia So , another album of old classics may be next !

Even as recently as the time of the Dylanesque album, the music industry has changed. Sales are down across the board so comparisons with the sales of Olympia are not really totally relevant.

Ian,
I love ATGB! Didn't move you? Drink a beer!
Who knows what BF & RM should do next?
Who's he asking? Just people on facecrook?
Does he read this forum?
Why do you think he's asking?
Does he even reply?
Most kids these days are listening to crap, so that's a hurdle in itself.
Finish the album. Do a big promo on television. Do a marketing campaign like the Fab Four did on Itunes.
See what happens.
Hey Bryan! You there?

This is all he said. Bryan Ferry (Official) The Olympia Campaign is now over, and having performed close to 200 shows this year we have no plans to tour in 2012. What should we record next? He could say nothing and just do what he wants. Nows your chance to say something and get involved.. Here's the link to his Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/bryanferryHere's the link to his Twitter page http://twitter.com/bryanferry

I wouldn't mind hearing that that. Not as an official release though. Maybe as a download. Would be like a Roxy karaoke. Did you want instrumentals of the originals or re-recordings?

Regarding the BF Facebook page, it is quite likely that he himself has never seen it, except maybe when one of his sons stuck an Ipad in his face and said "Hey, Dad. Look at this!" I think BF has made it clear that he himself is not interested in contemporary Social Media and uses email and text for only the most basic personal communication.
The question that BF is grappling with right now is not what he wants to do in the future, but what does the new Mrs BF want to do! And just as importantly, what does she want him to do?
Progeny Number 5 could be in the offing and that would keep any 66 year old plenty busy no matter how many nannies might be hired.
Yes, the record industry had changed in the time between the releases of Dylanesque and Olympia and record sales as a whole had dropped. But Olympia had far less impact on the Brit Record Charts and in that way it can be seen as much less successful than Dylanesque. I wonder if Olympia even moved 50,000 units worldwide...
