Tickets on sale...but too expensive for me, €92 to €192 plus admin costs, Eventim is a reliable service though.

Best tickets still available.

I'm reluctantly coming to the same conclusion, Stephen. :(

Only a few 90 euro seats left and they seem to be towards the sides of the upper circle. Mrs Smudge and I sat in the front row at Harpa in Reykjavik for a similar outlay! Remaining seats are 130-190 euros each!

Flights to Leipzig aren't cheap either, even with Ryanair, and then there's the hotel bill...

Pity, as I've been hankering for a BF acoustic gig. If it goes well, perhaps he'll repeat it in the UK

Rather glad I resisted the temptation, now that the gigs have been cancelled!

Pity, as they'd have given BF a chance to "road test" the orchestral show before I catch up with it in Dublin...

Good Evening to all of You fellow Fans of both Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry. my Name is Lori. I have read the announcement of the cancellations of both Shows in Leipzig, Germany. I wonder if any Fans could explain to Me what 'Contractual Obligational Failures" On the part of the Promoter means? It does seem like Bryan has been forced to cancel a fair number of Concerts/Shows as of late. This means that Bryan will not be receiving the very First ever " Life In Voice " award for which He so richly deserves! It was supposed to be awarded to Him after One of the 2 performance s in Leipzig, Germany.
No explanation of the bad " Local Circumstances" that took place in Russia In December of 2013 that also forced the cancellation of the entire Tour of Russia back then, either.
I wonder of J.O.B. can shed some light on these?
No explanation of the cancelled Concert/Show in Itstanbul, Turkey during The Olympia Tour was given either as I recall.
IMHO Bryan should just Go ahead and perform These Concerts for the Good of the Fans Who were going to come.
Now I know Bryan may not like to cancel Concerts without very Good reasons.
I am just a avid Music Fan Who would like to know more about these things.
I also see that He has been having trouble with selling Tickets to His Concerts in The East Coast of the U.S.A.
He may have to consider significantly lowering both His Performance Fees, and His Ticket Prices to fit the harsh realities of Today/s Financial and Economic Times.
I am also A Good fan of both Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry's Solo Career.
This is so Heart-Breaking for Fans.
Sincerely Yours to all, Lori.
I am also a Fan Who resides in The U.S.A.

Reading the last post here is the first I knew of this.

I am not sure why they were cancelled.

I'm very sad to see the Leipzig concerts have been cancelled. I would have loved to go there, but 195€ for the ticket plus the train ride plus the hotel costs was beyond my current financial scope.

And I don't know if Bryan has a solid fanbase in East-Germany. During the time Roxy Music were active the Iron Curtain was still standing (or hanging? Well, whatever it is that Iron Curtains do...).

...at the end of the day artists don't cancel shows without good reason so close to the date.

Extreme illness, bereavement are acceptable, this is the only way the artist doesn't lose out.

Or the promoter fails to pay the deposit...and why should bf pay to put on his own show???

The events are certainly failed on the money. Bryan and his team have to have a clear idea when it comes to pay for the performances well. What remains the organizer at such an event with orchestra since left, he must demand over charging twice as expensive than a normal BF concert to economize even. If we then let the cards did not sell well then an event is canceled so just stop. Anyone who has ever feel like it pay as an organizer at the end.
Bryan attracts not just stop the masses in flocks, but when it comes to make them pay, the event well, then he is still playing in the Premier League. If he does not slow in this regard recognizes the situation, then it will in future be other concert cancellations. His remaining fans will certainly not like that.

Lonely Dreamer has explained two crucial points why the ticket sale was below expectations. € 195,00 plus train/fuel costs plus hotel room were too much for fans both from other parts of Germany as well as fans from abroad. And Roxy Music had their successful phase during the Cold War - this means that Bryan Ferry hasn't got a good fan base in Leipzig/Saxonia when we are talking about concert-goers that must have been born in the former GDR.

For those who were looking forward to going to this event I can understand their disappointment. In 2005 I had tickets for a Roxy Music concert in Stuttgart/Germany but it was cancelled a few days before the gig because Roxy preferred to play for Live 8 in Berlin the same evening ... happily I could see them in in Bonn 2010 - and it was great :D

Elegant & Discerning Hipsters,
I'm sad for those Ferryistas that are affected by this cancelation.
These things are very frustrating and I'm sure our hero doesn't take them lightly — thank God Ireland doesn't appear to be affected!
I'll keep My butler working on suggestions for my Dublin valise but I've rejected completely his idea that I go with the Gaucho outfit — quel bordel, it wasn't Bryan's best, how the hell would it ever work for moi-meme?
a bien tôt,
Windswept
