This clip is worth listening to, a strange remembrance by Nick Cave of a visit to BF's house in 2000: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/video ... r-20150408 The telling phrase is "There's nothing to write about..." Thanks for posting DCJ. I Didnt know Bryan Ferry is a hero to Nick Cave and it's quite a tale/picture Cave presents in his new book. Another view to the one you take is that shortly after 2000 the harmony in Bryan's personal life took a major knock and a resurgence in his career began. Also, most of the original songs on the albums you refer to were written well before 2000. I Thought is genius alone. |

Mes Amis, Interesting ramblings from Brighton's finest. Personally I'd love to hear our hero interpret Cave's 'Palaces Of Montezuma' in Grindjrman style — it's a song that has Bryan's name on it and certainly one he could have written. It has the most brilliant lyrics: "The spinal cord of JFK wrapped in Marilyn Monroe's negligee - I give to you" — peerless! Salutations, Windswept |
