Hipsters,
Undoubtedly a great show but W2 has no desire to see it for the third time.
Salutations,
Windswept

But it's not the same Mr Ferry, not at all. BF is now a Roxy tribute act then?

No, it's not. It's the supreme irony that BF rather unceremoniously ditched Roxy twice (76 and 83) to pursue his solo career, the same solo career that now hardly features at all in his live shows. And, of course there's far more solo work to draw on. It's bewildering to the faithful, so heaven knows what anyone else makes of it.

How a die-hard fan can be impressed by these reviews is an enigma to me. It`s always the same old, same old "most stylish epithome of cool on the planet" blah blah blah. And was it most certainly a great concert, as Windswept 2 says? I`m not so sure. There were issues `bout his voice, and the overall sound, in the park, without a roof.

Again for clarification: this is not an As Time Goes By Tour or An Evening With Bryan Ferry Tour where BF is allowed to select the musicians as well as the songs. It's a Best Of Tour with hits from Bryan and Roxy, that's what the contractual arrangements say. That's how the tour is promoted. Unlike in North America (Avalon Tour). The program will differ in Europe only in nuances from the current set list. Everything else would be a breach of contract.
And who believes that it will be different then will realize that his wishes burst like bubbles in the air.
There will be no Colin Good or Enrico Tomaso on this tour.
Spedding and Chalmers are the mainstays of this tour.

I am unsure of the implication in your comment le freak but to be clear, I post the reviews here for information should any fans (die-hard or otherwise) wish to make themselves aware of how the tour is being received, nothing more.

I wonder if he seriously thinks that we think this band (his "Roxy Music now") is as good as the "real" thing? If he does then he is deluded to say the least. It's all about "control" with him.
I guess Andy, Phil and Paul would be up for doing something and finishing the unfinished album, but no, he won't do it, not for us.

I go see Roxy but I don't care to see him, haven't been for years cos it doesn't sound right and as for everything he did post IYM just gathers dust.

Btw, just listening to the boot Siren in the Empire pool, no wonder Viva wasn't a double. Some of his vocals are lousy even back then in 75.
