I remember wondering whether Ferry had covered Deaf School’s Taxi when the album of covers came out. Deaf School were an art house band from Liverpool in the late 70’s . Their debut, 2nd Honeymoon, was distinctly Roxy/Ferryesque. The follow-up Dont Stop The World , contains the song, Taxi, which had their lead singer Enrico Cadillac Jnr. channelling and pre-dating the Ferry that was to come in the early 80’s. Great fun. |

Deaf School was a wonderful band. You are correct, 2nd Honeymoon could have been outtakes from Roxy Music. Would love Ferry to cover What a way to end it all or Room Service! |
