Bryan Ferry was interviewed yesterday about his new album Olympia in a packed Forum de Rencontres at Fnac St.Lazare. It was a nice interview and he mentioned the possibility of a concert in Paris. Afterwards we could ask him some questions.
A woman had brought a painting made by Ferry when he was an art student, and she asked if she could show it to us. We mumbled in anticipation, but Ferry didn’t want her to and joked he would pay her for not showing it.
Then he signed the new album and every other item we presented him with. I got my copy of The Bride Stripped Bare signed and for the Olympia signature I picked the pages with the striking and very beautiful picture of Bryan Ferry taken by Anton Corbijn (

The woman with the painting turned out to be standing right before me in line, so luckily I did get to see it when she had it signed. It was a wonderful afternoon and I found it a great opportunity to say thank you to the man whose music means so much to me.
