I was at the Auckland gig. Nice that BF gave me a knowing wink and a smile when he saw my Bette Davis Baby Jane T-shirt. I didn't realise he wasn't going to sing VP (or Do The Strand) though.

btw there's a review of the Amsterdam concert from last year with the Metropole Orkest here:

Cher petitchien!

Thanks fot your post. The review that followed was interesting. I very much agree that Bête Noir is one of BF:s finest works as a whole and the song itself is a pearl that justifies ticket prices. travels, hotels etc.
Let´s hope that our hero has a relaxing, well-deserved vacation these days. I will be pleased if only one song of the set list will change, why not VP to Running wild! It´s better to be realistic about the touring business. Alors, cher W2, on a le chef d´oeuvre, Bitter Sweet. Pour moi, ca suffit.
Salutations à tous!

Cher Oberon,

Bien sure, I hope our hero has a relaxing vacation between tour legs but I also hope that he finds time to rehearse a revised set list for Europe.

If not, this will be the third time with the same show - W2 thinks we need some songs from this century. What about a smorgasbord from ‘Frantic’, ‘Dylanesque’, ‘Olympia’ and ‘Avonmore’ ?

Anything but ‘The Groundhog ‘ set list.

Salutations,

Windswept.

Let`s not be lame. The glass is either half empty or half full. You can only guess what I think. If the BF organisation, or BF himself, read this site, Windswept 2`s recommendations might bear fruit. Let`s hope so. :|

The Ferry Twitter page is asking what songs should be in the setlist for the forthcoming European tour. How seriously they will take any suggestions is surely open to question, given that some replies ask for Love is the Drug. For what it's worth I have added my handful of suggestions. It would be nice to think that they take criticisms of the stagnant set list seriously, but I am not holding my breath.

Cher True2Life,

There could be life !

Sadly or happily, Windswept doesn’t do that ‘Twatter’ thing or ‘The Clegbook’ but if the team are checking into this most hallowed of cyber halls, here are some tasty morsels that should warm the cockles of any thinking Ferryista’s heart :

2HB
A Song For Europe
Reason or Rhyme
Boys & Girls (Bitter Sweet version)
The Only Face
All Tomorrow’s Parties
Amazona
Gates Of Eden
In Your Mind
Johnny & Mary
Mother of Pearl
Serenade
Your Painted Smile
Tender Is The Night
I Thought
Another Time, Another Place.
When She Walks In The Room.

Wouldn’t it be fabulous to hear some or, even better, all of the above ?

Salutations,

Windswept.

If this was for a free show, then anyone/everyone was welcome. It makes sense in that context to do an overview/greatest hits set, rather than an (hopefully in the very near future) set including deeper tracks.
