A delightful show! I have seen Ferry in one permutation or another 8 times now and I have never seen him so genuinely happy during a show. The crowd was adoring and vocal and he seemed to revel in it. I was lucky to be in the third row right in front of Chris Spedding, (an idol I have also seen in many permutations through the years). I am still giddy from this amazing evening. The highlight was a moody and atmospheric version of If There Is Something with Chalmers playing sax through a delay that built looping layers that recalled some of Eno's work. I didn't want to like her going in, but damn me, she is splendid.

Cher Eero,

W2 is delighted you enjoyed the show.

TRAH was probably his best since AEWBF and yes, Chalmers is fabulous but so is the new guitarist !

Also, it’s great that he’s got his sartorial mojo back. The Humperdinck outfit is ditched and he’s swathed in A&S splendour.

One thing that did disappoint W2 however was the program. Not up to his normal standard at all - more training required.

Ferry On et salutations a tous,

Windswept.

I agree about the program. There are so many wonderful songs from his own catalogue, I would love for him to dig a little deeper.

Cher EERO,

We are talking at slightly crossed purposes. W2 was referring to the ‘program’ for the show not the set list.

Windswept doesn’t know if the ‘program’ was sold Stateside ? If not, you didn’t miss a lot because it was thrown together from things that have gone before but being the hopeless completist that he is, W2 had to have it and swelled Ferry’s coffers further.

Regarding the set list, yes our hero could have dug a little deeper. There were some overplayed ones in there but all in all, the U.K. show at TRAH was fantastic and the musicianship was just off the Richter scale - I’m sure it was the same for you.

So glad you enjoyed it.

Salutations,

Windswept.

My apologies! I misunderstood. I have never bought a tour program so it did not even occur to me what you meant. I will say that the designs of the t-shirts at the Merch table were pretty depressing...

I'm still looking. Doubt I'll ever find it.
