He is in a very good form and vo, and the live version of the song is much better than the recorded one for the LP.

I'm not a big fan of Olympia, but I must admit: in this clip Bryan Rocks! That's how it used to be ("We Are Rock & Roll...")

Searing guitars, v. cool voice at 1:51/52, absolutely killer bass line! Welcome back Mr. Ferry!!! Poor Andy Newmark, reminded me of a stone sculpture. Playing a back seat to Tara. Hmmmm.
(at least it's not the Doobie Bros).

This performance is quite good! I really prefer this version at the studio one. The problem is, with Olympia, that the songs are too sofisticated, there is a lack of freshness. When you look at the DVD, you understand that Bryan takes a long long time (but we already knew that) to finish a song and I'm sure this is not a good thing.

Just heard it the once. Much much better live. And I much prefer bf vocal....even the flat first few bars. Later on, much more power and attitude. Less breathy than the very weak vocals on the album IMHO.

I've watched the clip a couple of more times and it seems that BF's vocals sound much better when they are "cushioned" by his (very talented) backup singers. When it's just him it doesn't sound so great, but when he's singing on top of the backup singer, voila!, it sounds much better.

Firstly - it was good to hear one of the songs played live. I agree with the 'cushioning 'phrase used on another post. I know its been a discussion point on other threads so sorry for bringing it here - but remind me - why do we think this song more than others has been used to promote the album?

I don't get these questions about why 'You can dance' is used to promote the album. Isn't that how it always goes? An album has a leading single, and that's the one that is played on shows and on radios. It makes perfect sense not to play another song on every other show: not everyone follows Bryan's performances as this little community does, most people will (hopefully) simply stumble upon it accidentally, and that's when you want people to hear what you think is the best song of the album. You might not agree on the choice of song (although I'm quite fond of You can dance), but the strategy makes perfect sense.
