I have to admit that my initial "tepid" reaction to "Love Letters" has grown much warmer with each listen.

"The very thought of You" is simply superb, I'm narked I can't get a physical copy!

Best wishes to you all, especially W2.

The lyric video for Fooled Around is a cosmopolitan, neon, noiresque work of art. In other words, a masterpiece.

I agree! The whole mini album is a Masterpiece. Sometimes less is more.

Thank you, Robertron, absolutely superb - I had to watch it several times !!

When I listen to Elvin Bishop's original version I come to the impression that Bryan is an absolute specialist in changing six eight to four four rhythms - starting with A Hard Rain to I Put A Spell On You as well as his new songs Love Letters & Fooled Around. The latter two are really great originals which I didn't know before.

I agree completely with Robertron about the lyric video for 'Fooled Around'.
The EP is a triumph!

The lyric video for Fooled Around is very clever; probably the strongest song of the four too.

Good to have all four songs available on BF's YouTube page; it will keep us going until the EP gets a physical release (which, I've heard, will be later this year). :-)

I agree, the lyric video is very captivating and rather sophisticated. I imagine it was a real labour of love for those gifted enough to put something like this together.
I hope your source is reliable Smudge, as a physical release will be most welcome. :)

Mes Amis,
The ever tasteful Robertron has nailed it.
Our hero has delivered a veritable work of art - both musically and visually - vraiment superbe !
W2 doesn’t want to spread disinformation or get everyone indecently excited for no reason but, ‘Geordie’s Favourite Son’ did make reference to an album of covers during his discussion with Six Music’s
Craig Charles.
Was it a Freudian slip or is there more to come ?
Qui sait se qui se passé ?
Salutations,
W2

I’m late to this, not having been keen on the digital only format , and also thinking it was a bit bland, having heard excerpts only on social media.
A railway journey and Saturday, so I thought let’s go in , and I am happy to report that it sounds better as a whole EP. Yes, his voice is not what it was , but the phrasing is nigh on perfect, and the music shines through.

Cher Rendezvous,
W2 is delighted you’ve revised your opinion.
The EP is so typical of Ferry.
On second or third listen he just ropes you in. The penny just drops and you think ‘Mon Dieu’ this is just magic.
Windswept would love to see a comprehensive documentary on his process and studio activities. A fly on the wall ‘Day in the life of’ if you will.
To some extent we got some of it with ‘The Making Of Olympia’ but it would be great to have the whole enchilada from song selection, researching and opinion of previous versions to deciding his approach and directing the band.
In jour peut etre ?
Salutations and thanks for your kind thoughts.
Windswept.
