‘I just don’t know what to do with myself ‘is now available on Apple Music .. (maybe elsewhere) .. IMO it’s more substantial than LL .

I love this version - Bryan brings a hauntingly heartache to the song.

I will be disappointed if this EP isn’t released on vinyl - would really love a physical copy.

Thanks for the heads up Gardner. I've pre-ordered the EP so this latest release should be available to download. In the meantime, I had a quick listen via

Rather a plaintive vocal and violin solo and quite different to the 'Taxi' feel of LL. It's hard to know quite what to make of this - I feel I could get into a really laid-back mood and enjoy an album's worth of this, but bam! - it's over in 3 minutes and, it seems, there won't be an album of this material. If that's the case it feels like it might always be something of a curiosity which is a shame, as it leaves me wanting more.

To me this sounds more like something from Dylanesque ... the vocal is stronger than Love Letters. I feel people would've been more excited about this project if he'd released this first ..

What a delightful surprise, BF's best cover of this century IMHO.

Fellow Fandangoists,

The purpose of art is to surprise and our hero does it so magnificently with his haunting rendition of this Bacharach/David classic.

When Dusty Springfield recorded this song all those years ago, it resonated with me strongly as it summed up the loss that we felt as we moved from love to love in our youth.

All these years latter, Bryan brings it back with his magnificent interpretation just as I am enduring the biggest loss of all.

Pure serendipity- this man has truly provided the soundtrack for my life.

Bravo Bryan - une fois du plus tu l’as refait!

Salutations,

W2

Please receive my condolences as well Windswept. When I lost both my parents within a day at the start of the pandemic,Bryan's music remained a positive in my life...and also following the various discussions on this forum in which you play no small part.

I can only echoe what others have said about the latest cover song...a masterstroke.

W2,
I am deeply saddened for your loss. This is a beautiful piece and it does make me happy that it can bring you some joy. The little Instagram video is absolutely a treasure. Amazing how Bryan can adapt to new forms of making art.
