So an EP of mixes of The Right Stuff is being released as Bryan's contribution to Record Store Day 2024. Perhaps a sign that Team BF may be working on a deluxe set for Bete Noire in the style of last year's Mamouna set?

Wishful thinking . It’s a great record though, but an odd choice to issue at this time.

I don’t think it would be a surprise if Bete Noire is going to be the next reissue. It was Bryan’s first release on the Virgin label and, although this isn’t a special year for the album, it seems that it’s going to be these later albums that are getting the deluxe treatment.
If you look at the fact that from ATAP to B&G have already had reissues on vinyl then it makes sense that the later albums from Bete Noire onwards will get the deluxe treatment and vinyl reissues in the Mamouna style from last year.
Just speculating though and wishful thinking on my part so we shall see.

One of my favourite BF releases and loved all the different mixes at the time, so looking forward to this one. If it heralds a wider treatment of the album, so much the better. Hard to believe it would be released in total isolation to anything else.

As a Record Store Day release it’s a one off. For sure.
If there is a logical next reissue it’s got to be As Time Goes By .

Bonsoir, mes amis.

Je suis comme un enfant, j´adore des disques coloré. My wallet is already open.

Mamouna deluxe & delightful was really nice. The original was, at least in my ears, next to perfect, so the soundscape didn´t change much.
Also Bête Noir is a favourite of mine. That album, though, might benefit from being less "American" and instead more "noir".
Mais, d´abord, encore fandangos, s´il vous plait!

I remember seeing BF performing Right Stuff in 1987 on Saturday Night Live in NYC. Had Johnny Marr on guitar, Newmark on drums and Fonzi on backing vocals. Had no idea who Fonzi was until many years later when I kept seeing him on tours. Also, did not know that Right Stuff was a rework of a Smiths song Money Changes Everything that Marr tried earlier.
Great performance of Right Stuff, one of my favorite solo efforts. He also did Kiss and Tell that same night.

Wasn`t this song re-released in some form or another a while back?

Not sure why you think there needs to be any logic to it when there was no logic to the Mamouna release.
If there was any logic to it then Mamouna could have been released this year to coincide with it’s 30th anniversary.
I don’t really think there’s any rhyme nor reason to these releases and so that’s why we could see a Bete Noire release - especially with the RSD issue.
It may be ATGB due to its 25th anniversary but not sure the album warrants that and, as we know from Roxy and Ferry releases, anniversary dates mean very little (with the exception of 50th anniversary tour).
