Does anyone know if 'I Don't Want To Go On' from the upcoming hits album is the same as ' I Don't Want To' from the Alphaville outtakes? |

-Dunno. It`s a non-event all the same. I`ve never heard the Alphaville outtakes. I`ve said it before and I say it again; "A Fool For Love" - what a better song it would`ve been with a stronger voice... It could`ve been the key song of the whole Frantic album. It coul`ve been a great, great song in Bryan`s career, an anthem!!! |

It is indeed the same song. I can't recall what The Drifters version sounds like but we have a couple of other versions on CD by Van Morrison and Nazareth here at home. I really like Bryan's version and I am really pleased his piano & voice version of A Fool for Love from The Porter is getting a CD release, it's a simple but stunning track. ![]() |

Yeah i love BF's version of this track, I also have it by Nazareth equally very good, and its good to know it will get some recognition....There are a few hidden treasures on Alphaville, Whatever Whenever & Horoscope....just wish they would do something with them officially ![]() |

Interesting selection. Personally I would have included 'She's Leaving Home' - but I know we all have our personal favourites. |

I have the Drifters version (the Moody Blues covered it as well, during Denny Laine's time I think) I don't know if it's one of their more well known songs but Ferrys is a good version, he must have had a Drifters kick at the time of Alphaville as one way love was one of theirs as well. I presume it's the Alphaville guitar version and not the Whatever, Whenever version. The Alphaville version of fool for love would have been a good version to put on the best of as I think it superior to the Frantic version. Interesting how it gets from the Alphaville treatment to the piano onlyversion |

Thanks J.O.B. and everyone. It's the Alphaville version. Sweet melody and strings, and Bryan's vocal from that session is exquisite. |

The strings are magic, and Kate Bush once said Bry's version is one of her all-time fave tracks. |
