I've got a video tape recording of Bryan singing Sign of the Times in 1978 on a German TV show I think.I'm not sure though. It's definitely not the one on the Kenny Everett show.Bryan is clean shaven and wearing a grey shirt with no tie. He has a beard and a tie on the Kenny Everett video. I've not seen it anywhere else. Does anyone know any more ? Is it a rare one ? |

I normally ask one of my (grown up) kids to do anything IT related for me. That usually works! If you have one of them then suggest you try going down that route. Hope you get it sorted as it would be good to see this |

I have some footage of Roxy and don't know where it was filmed, it was put on the end of the Flesh + Blood gig in Dortmund that someone sent me a few years ago, it's a studio setting and they are performing "Eight Miles High" with the great Paul Thompson on drums, and Bryan on guitar ![]() The other songs they do are "oh yeah" "same old scene", and Bryan seems to have changed clothes? I don't think its rare, I just don't have a clue where they are and what kind of show it is. Does anyone else? |

I think it was for that German TV show Musikladen.. Is Bryan wearing his army shirt for Oh Yeah and Same Old Scene and holding a guitar for Eight Miles High? It's a strange one because TGPT is on it but he wasnt on Flesh + Blood. |

Ah, yes Ian thank you, it is indeed Musikladen. silly me!.... I have just whizzed through the dvd and it is the two bonus tracks, minus "Same Old Scene" and "Eight Miles High" I wonder why that is? I do have a couple of VHS tapes of RM/BF which I have kept since being 13, I will have to take a look through them and see If "Sign of the times" you speak of lurks. |

I find it strange that TGPT did the videos considering he was booted out of the band when Flesh+Blood was recorded. Unless they did record it with him and did the videos but decided on a different drummer at the eleventh hour . |

Thompson was to be the drummer on the flesh and blood tour but broke his thumb or one of his fingers in a motorbike accident just before the tour started (he even appeared on Top of the pops for the over you appearance and some of the early promo stuff such as the musikladen clip) which kept up the pretence until the album came out, hence Andy Newmark was drafted in at short notice. |

I don't recall ever seeing the two additional tracks ("Same Old Scene" and "Eight Miles High") that Helen mentions as being from Musikladen, and can't find them on YouTube. Further, the complete Musikladen playlist on Wikipedia doesn't mention these two tracks at all, only "Over You" and "Oh Yeah": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musikladen#1979.E2.80.931981 Any further information on these two Musikladen tracks would be appreciated. Roxy were all over European TV during 1980. Here are the performances that I know of: 1980-05-15, Top of the Pops, London, UK "Over You" w/Paul Thompson on drums, and BF on guitar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmU4p2nOTN4 1980-06-02, Chorus, Paris, France Eight songs in total, samples: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73o0kcrUTHE http://www.ina.fr/art-et-culture/musique/video/I10260174/roxy-music-sur-la-scene-du-palais-des-sports-a-paris-1-2.fr.html http://www.ina.fr/art-et-culture/musique/video/I10260175/roxy-music-sur-la-scene-du-palais-des-sports-a-paris-2-2.fr.html 1980-06-19, Musikladen 54, West Germany "Over You" w/Paul Thompson on drums: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1kkjATxftI 1980-06-21, RockPop, Mainz, West Germany "Oh Yeah", "Same Old Scene" w/Andy Newmark on drums: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjcVpQsYKfo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRh0y-I6pSg 1980-08-07, Top of the Pops, London, UK "Oh Yeah" w/unidentified drummer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmU4p2nOTN4 1980-10-09, Musikladen 56, West Germany (taped during the earlier, June Musikladen performance) "Oh Yeah" w/Paul Thompson on drums: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFK5IoEr-QY 1980-11-24, Disco, West Germany "Oh Yeah" w/Michael Dawe(?) on drums: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdBK3nSOOIs 1980-12-19, RockPop In Concert, Dortmund, West Germany Eleven songs in total, sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN7xw4qsKFM |
