An acknowledged 'long overdue' update from Andy at http://www.themetaphors.com/index/news. I had half expected to see something that brought down the curtain on Roxy, but au contraire, "Goodbye Roxy Music - who knows?" doesn't exactly rule out activity of some kind, does it?
Anyway good to know some new live work from AM also seems to be in the pipeline.

Thanks for the link, UKRichard; given the lack of news, I hadn't visited The Metaphors' website for quite some time.

I recall hearing about Andy's hand problems at the Not-So-Silent-Movies appearance at King's Place last year, but I wasn't sure how "hush hush" the info was, so I decided against sharing it.

He was certainly playing confidently and well that day, so it's good to hear that this will lead to some CD and, hopefully, live appearances before too long. :D

And here are the Psalms in demo form. Very interesting work; managing to be experimental, accessible and appropriate for a religious context is quite a trick to pull off!

It is good to hear Something/Anything from the Andy M camp and to learn that he has done some recording with PM and Eno.

The Metaphors are interesting to a point, but I still don't get why it is that they have opted to leave a bass out of the mix. I like their version of LITD but it seems a bit empty without the sonic foundation of a bass. And Waterloo Sunset, while somewhat engaging, could use the skeletal support of a bass line to give it structure.
