Thanks for your posting, Roxy.

Congratulations to Andy Mackay who had a solid musical education at Reading University. Nice picture of him with his graduation cap (I don't know how it is exactly called in UK). I'm glad to hear of Andy - somebody who was highly responsible for the unique sound of my favorite band.

This evening I have also read in a German newspaper that former "Geordie" and today's "AC/DC" lead singer Brian Johnson has received an honorary doctor's degree from Newcastle University. I do not begrudge him this title, that is not the point. But if it had to be someone from Britain's North with a "unique voice" - I would have considered a different candidate ... oh no, I'm not thinking of Sting although I liked The Police ;)

Hasn't BF received that already? Honestly I've long lost track of all the awards and degrees and titles our hero receives...

Yes really lovely pic of Andy - thoroughly deserved award as he was such an integral part of Roxy. In fact it was a band having an oboeist/saxophonist that made me take notice when I was 14 years old and here I am 40 years on ..... :D

The same with me, prairie rose: I was 13 years old (and here I am 42 years on). It was a band with an ironic voice, a thrilling oboe (oh how I wanted to have such an instrument!) and a driving beat.

Congratulations to Andy and Bryan - absolutely deserved!
