It was strange to be a VIP...thanks to my mate Jeff...who i hadnt seen for ages and we enjoyed stories of our 50 year old friendship and wandered down to Times Square Newcastle.
So.....Times Square Newcastle....dingey, drab miserable VIP bars, no tables, no chairs, and what appeared to be the next generation of Geordie Shore serving behind the bar....eeeeh white wine, we've only got chardonnay or rose.....".hmmm Ok, I'll have a lager...."
To the gig itself...there was a girl band called Dreamwife (had a guy drummer) who were superb. The singer was weirdly pale and fragile but sexy and angry.
PSB were next and were fantastic, it chucked down with rain for the first 20 minutes..and nobody cared..they were simply magnificent.
The Cribs were next, sorry, I found them cliched and bland.."are you ready to rock!!??"" Haway man....
Top billing went to the Manic Street Preachers, who were very professional.
