Cheers for posting Manifesto.

I can attest to Bryan enjoying the show in Detroit, I had two friends there and they loved it, he was in fine voice and smiling a lot. The security around him was a bit nasty mind......I don't think 50+ year old women warrant such aggression, especially when they've flown from Florida and London!

Hipsters,

Nice to hear the affection our hero has for ‘Mother Of Pearl’. It remains one of Windswept’s absolute favourites and he’d love to hear it live again.

The last time he played it W2 thinks was 2003.

Salutations,

Windswept.

Rendezvous,

Strange given our hero’s penchant for the younger woman!

Have you had the opportunity to see this show ?

It has some great moments.

Salutations,

W2

Hello W2,

I'm afraid I haven't had the chance to see it; work commitments have prevented a lot of fandangoing this year, but I am heartened to see such positive feedback - and love - expressed.

Having said that (bear with the parochialism fellow forum members), I was home a few weeks ago and attended a rare Sunderland Annabel's nightclub reunion with members ranging from the '60s right through to its closure in the noughties.

The event took place at the Greens pub and it was fabulous, lots of photos displayed on a loop on screens and everyone had the chance to choose their favourite music from whichever era; James Brown, Roy Ayers, Grace Jones, Herbie Hancock, Lamont Dozier, Van McCoy....a magical evening!

All the best.

Hello Rendezvous and WS2 :D

I must correct Rendezvous
The concert hes referring to was at the
Fabulous Chicago Theatre August 1st...

Rendezvous Im so glad you had a Fabulous time at the Annabelles Reunion 8-)
Please Don't Use Such Big Words
It Hurts My Head

Yes the security there at the Chicago Theatre was rude and overly aggressive...

But Bryan was Sublime as Usual....
I will post some really nice photos in this next post my friend took at the concert

I'm so Happy to see Bryan Ferrying On :)

And as for his Penchant for Younger Women..
There's Still hope
for us More Mature Beauties

Hello Teresa

Great to see you posting again! You were missed!
And thanks to everyone for not pointing out my 'foxes paw' (as they say in Belfast) of spelling 'Interview' wrong in my heading!
Sadly, Bryan hasn't played Ireland since last August (an excellent but also very poignant concert)....

Cher Rendezvous,

That sounds fantastic.

Mon Dieu - an Annabel’s reunion. I would have loved that.

For bemused Ferryistas, there is a strong Ferry connection. Our hero used to hang out there in the early ‘70s. In fact this scribe mentioned it to him in 2007 after the Dylanesque gig in Paris. He had very fond memories and talked about it with great affection. I often wonder if he gets back to the NE much these days.

Sadly when I hear NE news it’s often because people have passed.

Marcus Price, fabulous guy who was a big jazz fan and who owned great boutiques in Newcastle (Ferry was a regular customer and Bob Dylan shopped there on one occasion) sadly died last year and Alan ‘Hoggy’ Hogg who had a great shoe shop passed only a month or so ago.

A salient reminder that we better fandango on while we can.

I’m really enjoying ‘Bitter-Sweet’ and hope he get’s his ‘74 RAH album out soon - I was at that one so it will be a real trip down memory lane .

Salutations,

Windswept.

Teresa,

Sorry for getting the venue wrong, I think I was in "Roxy were always popular in Detroit" mode.

I was also wrong to think the women at the Annabel club reunion still thought I was Bryan's brother.......
