A great report from the Ferry front line!
I took in the Dylanesque tour at Olympia in Paris (formerly Le Grand Rex) and it's a great venue. Our Parisian brethren love Geordie's favourite son and I think the vibe and the venue lift him.
I loved your description of the musical troubadours and I don't think we can ever underestimate the influence and contribution of Colin Good (aka The Head Waiter). Since he came on board for 'As Time Goes By,' the Ferry camp has gone from strength to strength.
Looking forward to Vienna but I hope we get a live rendition of 'Reason or Rhyme'.

Thanks, Windswept. At the risk of nitpicking, as far as I know Le Grand Rex (where BF's DVD of the As Time Goes By tour was recorded) is a separate venue and still alive and well.

I was at the Paris show and I can concur with everything you said. It was a great show...Bryan was happy and relaxed and in very good voice. He lapped up the adulation of the Parisian (+ British, Japanese, Russian etc) audience.

As I'd planned the trip to Paris a while ago I managed to get a return on Eurostar for less than £75. Much cheaper than driving to my local airport in Bristol and getting a cheapo plane (and less hassle)

Now there's an offer! Anyone contemplating, you can be rest assured. You can shop in confidence with this man. Trust me! Great review! You had us there with you. See you in Edinburgh. Thanks.

Indeed JOB the 2007 one was very nice...I need to get it professionally framed, I put it in a frame myself but no passe-partout, so the autograph is pressed against the glass
But the photograph is absolutely wonderfull, very arty! Was it made by Corbijn?

I flew to France from Tokyo and attended two shows at St.Brieuc and Paris. There were some downsides (for me).....
1)Reason Or Rhyme dropped
2)Only two songs from Olympia and too much RM songs.
3)I had to keep me sat down on my poor strapontin seat.
4)An old man next to me was sleeping during the show

But I totally agree the band performances were very good.
And It was very nice to have met Paddy and her friend and to have chatted with them after the show.

But, more importantly, who was the old man asleep next to you? Are you sure it wasn't Sarkosy?

Le Grand Rex is a separate venue - I'm pretty sure I caught his Dylanesque gig there.
Anyway, I'm sure that anywhere in 'The City Of Light' would be good and I'm pleased you had a great time.
I just hope he get's 'Reason Or Rhyme' reinstated for Vienna and I'd love to hear 'Tender Is The Night' played live - if not, I fear the wife will give me a very hard time!

I don't understand why so many RM songs? I would feel cheated if I had bothered to go! Having just forked out to see RM twice and then to see a BF band do some of the songs again?? No thanks. A BF band will never do RM songs as good as RM. I know he has always done two or three (JG, Strand etc) but is there any neeed for any more as Bryan has lots to choose from? Is it because these are well known to the majority of the band from the recent RM tour. And, if that was the case why didn't PT do drums? As it is the "Olympia" tour understood why AN is on drums (as he did the recording) but then ony two songs from Olypia??
