Have a lot of his stuff, but you want to check out 'OFFICIUM', it will blow you away, if only because of the similarity between sax and the human voice. If not, go for 'IN PRAISE OF DREAMS', both on the ECM label. Incredible stuff.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Always loved Parker's 'Ornithology', and Coltrane's full length 'My Favourite Things' is astonishing.

Agh, the Grafton Plastic sax; a bugger to play in tune, get the right 'sound', and apparently very brittle? Lovely to look at though. Made out of a factory less than four miles from where I currently sit typing!!!

That is a really unique sax, I was reading that Charlie Parker was basically under some kind of contract to use only that !

Popular legend has it that Parker rarely owned his own alto, but would borrow others' horns, play them, sell 'em for drug money and scarper!

Anyway, enough of discussing other sax players on the Emperor's own site!
