The Frantic tour got off to a great start in this excellent amphitheatre in Odense. The venue was similar to the Roxy Music 'Frejus' video but in a smaller scale. The band opened with the new album opener It's All Over Now Baby Blue which sounded as tight and punchy as the recorded version. Sign Of The Times followed much to the surprise of the crowd. It has taken Bryan 24 years to perform this song live for the first time and this band really did it justice. Staying with The Bride Stripped Bare album the show continued with Can't Let Go. A crowd pleasing Oh Yeah was followed by the new single Goddess Of Love. The live version gives the song a rawer edge than the recorded version and went down great with the Danish audience. The show rocked on with a visit to Country Life with Out Of The Blue and Lucy Wilkins once again excelled herself in what is one of the highlights of the shows with her blistering violin solo but the sound was not quite right and her performance got lost in the mix. Most of the band left the stage to leave Bryan in his Roxy 2001 tour black suit to sing the piano/vocal Don't Think Twice It's All Right. Ja Nun Hons Pris was played with Robert Fowler on Recorder and Lucy Wilkins playing the soprano vocal line on violin was the perfect prelude to Fool For Love which was driven by The Great Paul Thompson and a showcase for some fine playing by Chris Spedding. The siren of Both Ends Burning blasts through and the audience were dancing again with this arrangenment similar to the Roxy Music 2001 tour. After the instrumental Tara, a drenched crowd were dancing to a shortened version of A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall. Slave to Love had some fine guitar work by Mick Green who played the lead work in what has been the best live version of this 1985 hit heard so far. Kiss And Tell was driven by new boy Mark Smith on bass. A few technical hitches including Ferry's mic coming to pieces were overcome. The lead guitar was played true to the record by Chris Spedding with Mick Green on rhythm. The show continued with the hits Dance Away, Jealous Guy & Let's Stick Together with an encore of Love Is The Drug and Do The Strand. This small venue show was mainly a warm up for the Jelling Festival tomorrow where the audience is expected to be around 15,000. Many other songs are in the shortlist but have yet to be rehearsed. Tonight's set was made up mainly of hits but there have been suggestions that the set will evolve throughout the Frantic Tour SET LIST: It's All Over Now Baby Blue/Sign Of The Times/Can't Let Go/Oh Yeah/Goddess Of Love/Out Of The Blue/Don't Think Twice It's All Right/Ja Nun Hons Pris/Fool For Love/Both Ends Burning/Tara/A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall/Slave To Love/Kiss And Tell/Dance Away/Jealous Guy/Lets's Stick Together/Love Is The Drug/Do The Strand
