James Wraith

James Wraith was born in Liverpool 18th January 1951. He learned to play flute guitar & keyboards. He joined Pete Brown's band, Flying Tigers in 1975. He joined Galaxis in Holland in 1976 but after being disillusioned with music he studied dance at the Merseyside dance centre in 1977. He met Andy Mackay in 1982 and began songwriting with him and Phil Manzanera after the split of Roxy Music in 1983. The three of them formed the band The Explorers in 1984.

James left the band in 1987 and has since worked with artists on Phil Manzanera's Expression label doing backing vocals.
