Sjaak Versluis R.I.P.

It's almost too obvious a thing to say that this site is dedicated to the work of the band Roxy Music and the solo work of the band members, but like any band they are nothing without their fans.
This is a site run by a fan for fans and I would, not just on a personal level but on behalf of the many Roxy fans who knew Dutch fan Sjaak Versluis offer our condolences to his his family after learning tonight of his death today after a short illness.
Sjaak was an avid collector of Roxy Music and amassed such a huge collection of memorabilia that he had a 'Roxy Museum' in his home. It was only last week that I was in correspondence with him for some items that may be used in the tour book for the forthcoming Avonmore tour book.
I met Sjaak on many occasions and most recently at Bryan's Amsterdam show last November . Sjaak was such a warm kind person and always a pleasure to be in his company and I am sure many Roxy fans not only in Holland but from the many traveling fans who have met him will agree that his passing is a sad loss to what I and many others have referred to as the 'Roxy Family'
I hope that his family take comfort in the high esteem that many of us within this community have put him in and I am sure all our thoughts will be with his close friends and family at this sad time.
